Peter E. Lacey, a managing member of Everglades Global Advisors LLC, graduated from Cook College, Rutgers University in 1983 with a B.S. in Economics. Mr. Lacey started in the financial services industry in 1983 at Lehman Brothers. Mr. Lacey went on to work for Larry Helfant, Inc. in 1983 and was their Lead Trading Assistant from 1985 – 1987 responsible for all customer relationships. From 1987 – 1991 Mr. Lacey was an independent floor broker at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) for Larry Helfant, Inc., responsible for execution and order flow management, mostly dealing with risk arbitrage and/or merger arbitrage.
In 1991 Mr. Lacey went to work as a specialist for Bank of America Specialists. In 1995 Mr. Lacey was promoted to Supervisory Specialist and a Floor Official for the NYSE. In 2003 Mr. Lacey was promoted to co-head of Trading and Risk Management and responsible for 88 specialists and their capital commitment to approximately 400 stock issues on the floor on the NYSE. Mr. Lacey’s responsibilities included risk management, compliance, new listings and profit and losses. He was also on the Bank of America Specialist Management Committee. Additionally, Mr. Lacey was Governor of the New York Stock Exchange, on the Market Performance Committee (NYSE ruling body), NYSE Education Committee (for Academia), New Member Orientation Committee, and the F.A.C.T.S. program (designed to explain the benefits of the auction market to buy side and sell side participants.
Mr. Lacey retired from Bank of America Specialists in 2004 and has been an Independent Trading Consultant since. Mr. Lacey currently serves as the General Partner for the Everglades Global Opportunities Fund LP, the Everglades Digital Asset Fund LP and the OA Digital Fund LP.
